Answer

Does HubSpot integrate with Autotask?

HubSpot and Autotask don't share a native, built-in integration. Here's what connecting them actually takes — and the MSP-native alternative.

Not natively. HubSpot and Autotask don't share an official, built-in two-way integration. To connect them, MSPs rely on third-party connectors — iPaaS tools or purpose-built middleware — and many of those sync in one direction only, or across a limited set of fields, often for an added subscription cost.

Why it matters for MSPs

Your CRM (HubSpot) holds pipeline and marketing; your PSA (Autotask) holds companies, contracts, tickets, and billing. Without a solid bridge, sales and delivery drift apart — reps quote things ops can't see, and account data gets re-keyed by hand. HubSpot is a genuinely powerful, general-purpose CRM with a huge ecosystem, but it wasn't built for MSP-specific PSA workflows.

What good MSP-CRM sync looks like

  • Two-way company and contact sync, with the PSA acting as the source of truth for accounts.
  • MSP-aware quoting tied to a real service catalog, not just generic deals.
  • Whitespace and relationship signals grounded in actual service data, not manual tags.

How Current handles it

Current is an MSP-specific CRM that syncs two-way with Autotask, ConnectWise, and Halo PSA natively — with account-manager reassignment arbitration, CRM email-domain gating, and NeverBounce verification built in. It also ships a HubSpot import engine, so if you're moving off HubSpot you can bring your contacts and companies with you. Sales, delivery, and PMI live in one platform that talks to your PSA instead of fighting it.

Why this is harder than it looks

The two systems disagree about what a company is. Autotask holds contracted customers with agreements, service lines, and invoices. HubSpot holds anyone who ever filled in a form. Point a naive sync at that and you get thousands of unmatched records, duplicate companies with slightly different names, and a CRM nobody trusts within a fortnight.

Matching is the whole problem. Name matching alone fails on the ordinary messiness of real data — a trading name in one system and a legal entity in the other, an acquisition that renamed half the records, two genuinely different customers with similar names. Any integration worth using has to be explicit about how it decides two records are the same thing, and what it does when it is not sure.

How Current's import engine handles it

Current ships a staged migration engine rather than a background sync, and nothing reaches a live CRM table until a human approves a dry run. It pulls companies, contacts, deals, and deal pipelines into a staging area first, then gives every row a verdict: matched, new, or ambiguous.

  • Companies match first on a stored HubSpot company id, then on normalized domain, then on exact normalized name.
  • Contacts match on a stored HubSpot contact id, then on lowercased exact email.
  • Anything with more than one candidate, or only a fuzzy resemblance, is marked ambiguous and is never imported without a human decision.
  • Contacts with no activity in the last year stay staged and are counted rather than imported, so a decade of dead records does not follow you across.

Engagement history comes too — notes, calls, meetings, emails, and tasks land as activity against the right company, deduplicated by their HubSpot id so a re-run cannot double them. Every run is reversible: an undo reverts that run's writes, idempotently and with an audit trail.

The Autotask link that makes matching reliable

The strongest match signal is one many MSPs already have without realizing it. If your Autotask companies carry a user-defined field holding the HubSpot company record id, that is a provable link between the two systems rather than a guess, and Current uses it as the first matching rule. If you do not have it, populating that field before a migration is the single highest-value hour of preparation available.

The realistic options

  • Run both permanently with a third-party connector or iPaaS. Workable, but check direction and field coverage carefully, and price the subscription.
  • Consolidate onto an MSP-native CRM that already reads your PSA, and migrate the HubSpot history across once.
  • Keep HubSpot for marketing only and stop treating it as the sales system of record, which removes the reconciliation problem entirely.
