Current + IT Glue integration

Each partner's IT Glue documents, passwords, device configurations and renewal dates, on the company record and the ticket. A password is fetched when a technician reveals it and is never stored in Current.

IT Glue is where an MSP writes down how each partner's environment works: the runbooks, the credentials, the device configurations and the dates things expire. Current's IT Glue integration puts that documentation where a technician already is, on the company record and on the ticket they are working. It reads documents and the password list from IT Glue when someone opens them, and it fetches a password only when a person asks to see it.

What the integration does

Current connects with one IT Glue API key, matches each IT Glue organization to the right company by name (and by PSA company ID where IT Glue shares one), and reads each organization's renewal dates once a day. Documents and passwords are not copied into Current. They are read from IT Glue at the moment someone opens them, so the screen shows what IT Glue says now.

What shows up, and where

  • Documents: every folder's documents for the company, most recently updated first, opened in a reader beside the record with their headings, text and steps.
  • Passwords: each one by name, username and category, with a Reveal button for the people allowed to use it.
  • Device configurations: the IT Glue configuration that matches a device by serial number or hostname, its warranty date, and the passwords attached to it.
  • Renewals: SSL certificates, domains, warranties and licences due in the next 120 days or expired in the last 30, on the company record and in the company alert band.

Passwords are shown, never stored

A password is fetched from IT Glue only when an engineer, project manager or admin presses Reveal. It shows for 30 seconds and clears from the screen when the time runs out, when the person hides it, or when the browser tab is hidden. It is never written to a table, a log, an error report, the browser's storage or an AI prompt. A password IT Glue restricts to named people is never revealed in Current: the row links to IT Glue instead, where IT Glue's own permissions decide. Sales roles and client portal viewers never see documents or passwords at all.

A record of who looked

IT Glue logs a password read through its API against the API key rather than the technician, so its own logs cannot say who looked. Current records every reveal before the value is shown: who, which password, which company, where and when, and never the value. Workspace admins read that list in Settings and can export it. A reveal that cannot be recorded shows nothing.

Renewals before they lapse

The renewal dates IT Glue already tracks become a short Expiring soon list on each company record, with the date in words and a link back to the item in IT Glue. When something expires within 30 days the company alert band warns, and when something has already expired it turns critical, so a lapsed certificate or domain is a line on the account before it is a ticket.

Why it matters

A technician working a ticket for a partner like Northwind Traders can see, without leaving Current, the firewall and VPN runbook updated last month, the admin login for the branch office switch, and that the SSL certificate on the partner's client portal expires in nine days. The reveal sits on the record under the technician's own name, and the account manager sees the same renewal on the company record before the partner notices it.
