Current + Datto integration
View-only evidence feeds from Datto RMM, Backup, and EDR that turn your monitoring data into proof points inside AI-assisted strategic business reviews.
Datto is a monitoring and protection stack, not a project system — and Current treats it that way. The Datto integration is a view-only evidence feed into Current's SBR/QBR module. It reads the signals you already collect and turns them into the proof points that make a strategic business review land, without ever writing back to your Datto instance.
What the integration does
Current pulls read-only evidence from across the Datto stack and stages it as material for AI-assisted Strategic Business Reviews. When you sit down with a partner, you can show that their environment is patched, backed up, and defended — with the underlying data standing behind the claims instead of a slide full of assertions.
What data flows
- Datto RMM — device counts, patch status, and endpoint health signals.
- Datto Backup — protection and recovery-point evidence that a partner's data is actually covered.
- Datto EDR — endpoint detection and response signals that show security tooling is active and working.
The feed is strictly one-way and read-only. Current never pushes changes into Datto, never manages devices, and never touches your monitoring configuration. It consumes the evidence and leaves the source of truth exactly where it is.
Why it matters
The hardest part of a good SBR isn't the meeting — it's assembling credible evidence beforehand. Pulling patch, backup, and EDR data by hand across tools is slow and error-prone, so reviews often lean on generic talking points. By feeding Datto evidence directly into the SBR module, Current lets the numbers do the talking: partners see that the service they pay for is measurably working, and you spend your prep time on strategy instead of screenshots.
In the review itself, evidence appears as proof points, not raw vendor output — so the story stays about the partner's business outcomes, with the monitoring data quietly backing every claim.
What this feed is, and what it is not
This is a view-only evidence feed, not a management integration. Current reads from Datto to support business reviews and reporting; it does not configure backups, trigger restores, or change anything on the Datto side. That boundary is deliberate. A CRM and delivery platform has no business writing to your backup infrastructure, and read-only access is far easier for a security-conscious MSP to justify.
What it is for
Business reviews are more persuasive with evidence than with assertions. Telling a client their backups are healthy is a claim; showing protection coverage and recent verification results from the actual system is proof. The feed exists so a Strategic Business Review can cite real numbers pulled from the tools already running, rather than figures somebody assembled by hand the night before.
Where the data appears
- In Strategic Business Reviews as evidence backing the technology and risk sections.
- On the company record, so an account manager sees fleet reality before a renewal conversation.
- In reporting, alongside the other connected evidence feeds.
How it fits the wider picture
Datto is one of a set of read-only evidence feeds Current supports, alongside other RMM, security, and satisfaction tools. The point is not any single feed but the aggregate: a review that draws on several independent systems is materially harder to argue with than one built from a single export.
