What a referred MSP gets and how it counts
An MSP you refer gets a 30-day free trial instead of the usual 14 days. Their signup is credited to your workspace when Current can tie it to you: they opened your referral link in the browser they signed up from, or they signed up with the email address your invite went to. Current records it when they set up their new workspace, and only within 72 hours of creating it.
What the MSP you refer gets
- +A 30-day free trial instead of 14 days. A signup that doesn't qualify as a referral gets the standard 14 days.
- +A note on the signup page naming who invited them, unless the invite was sent without your workspace's name.
- +A clear line that your workspace will see their workspace name and seat count, and never their data.
Everything else about Current is the same for them: the same plans, the same prices and the same product.
How a signup is credited to you
Current only trusts what it recorded itself. A signup counts for you when one of these is true:
- +They opened your referral link, or the link in your invite email, in the browser they then signed up from, within the last 90 days.
- +Your invite email was delivered within the last 90 days to the same address they signed up with. This works even if they never clicked the link.
The match happens when the new workspace is set up, and it has to happen within 72 hours of the workspace being created. After that, a workspace can't be credited to a referrer.
If they signed up without your link
If you sent them an invite and they signed up with that same email address, it still counts. If they signed up with a different address, in a browser that never opened your link, or before you invited them, Current has no record that ties the signup to you, and a referral can't be added to an existing workspace later. If you think a referral was missed, reach us from Help, Contact support and tell us the workspace you referred.
What does not count
- +Referring your own workspace, or someone at your own company's email domain.
- +A referred workspace that pays with the same card or Stripe customer as yours.
- +A link or invite older than 90 days.
- +A workspace created more than 72 hours before the referral was recorded, such as an MSP already using Current.
- +Links and invites from the demo workspace.
A signup that does not count does not appear in Your referrals and earns no credit, and that MSP gets the standard 14-day trial.
Can an MSP I referred refer others?
Yes. Once they are in Current, their own staff have a Refer a peer page and a referral link of their own, and they earn free seats the same way you do. Their referrals count for their workspace, not yours.
A referred seat starts to count from their first paid invoice. See "When referral credit starts, changes or stops".
