Mapping CRM industries to Autotask Market Segments
Company industries in Current often arrive as free-text labels — from a HubSpot import, or typed in by hand — like "Computer Software" or "Hospital & Health Care." Autotask, on the other hand, only accepts a company's Market Segment from its own fixed picklist (Government, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and whatever else your Autotask instance defines). Those two vocabularies rarely match word for word, so when Current pushes a company to Autotask, an unmapped industry is skipped with a warning instead of guessed at. Industry mapping is where you tell Current which of your industries corresponds to which live Autotask segment.
Where it lives
This mapping is treated as an Autotask setting, so it sits inside the Autotask connection rather than as its own tile.
- 1Open IntegrationsGo to Integrations from the sidebar.
- 2Manage the Autotask connectionClick Manage on the Autotask card to open its settings drawer.
- 3Find Industry → Market Segment mappingScroll to that section — it shows a live count of how many of your industries are mapped, and how many still need attention.
- 4Click Manage mappingThis opens the editor: every distinct industry in your company records, how many companies carry it, and a dropdown of your Autotask Market Segments to map it to.
The unmapped worklist
Any industry without a mapped segment shows a warning right in its row: companies carrying that industry won't send a segment to Autotask until it's mapped. The editor's own subtitle calls this out directly — the unmapped rows are your worklist. Use Suggest mappings to have Current fuzzy-match your industry labels against your live Autotask segment names; it only fills in rows that are still unmapped, so it never overwrites a mapping you've already reviewed and saved.
Refresh Autotask list
Autotask's Market Segment list is authoritative — Current never creates a segment on your behalf. If the segment you need doesn't exist yet, add it in Autotask (Admin → Application-wide (Shared) Features → Market Segment) and then click Refresh Autotask list in the editor to pull the updated list without reopening the page.
Saving triggers a queued push
Saving only writes the mappings you actually changed. If any of your companies are already synced to Autotask and carry a newly-mapped industry, Current automatically queues them to push their Market Segment on the next normal sync — you'll see a toast telling you how many companies were queued. New pushes going forward use the mapping immediately, so there's nothing further to do once it's saved.
