Your account: your name, and where you land
Two things about your account are yours alone to set, and both live in the same place: the name Current calls you by, and the screen you open on when you sign in. Click your initials in the top right, then choose Preferences.
- 1Open the account menuYour initials, in the round button at the top right of any page.
- 2Choose PreferencesYour name is the first field.
- 3Type your name and click SaveThe greeting on My Day and your initials in the corner change straight away.
That one name is what the whole product uses for you: the greeting on My Day, the account menu, your initials on an avatar, your name on tasks you are assigned, deals you own, comments you write, and the emails Current sends on your behalf. Change it once and every one of those follows.
If Current is greeting you by your email address
The form that created your account asked for your name, and whatever went in that box is what Current has been calling you since. If an email address went in it, every greeting reads as an email address. Preferences is the fix, and it takes about five seconds.
From September 14, 2026 the sign-up and invitation forms refuse an email address in the name box, so new accounts cannot start out this way.
One exception fills a name in for you. If your workspace syncs Autotask and your Current account shares an email address with an Autotask resource, Current copies that resource's name onto your profile on the next sync, but only when your profile has no name or is still showing an email address. A name you set yourself is never overwritten.
The screen you land on
Under your name, Preferences offers the screens you can open on, in two groups. Delivery holds My Day, Portfolio, Boards, List, Timeline, Calendar and Schedule. Sales holds Sales Home, Leads and Deals, and appears for anyone who works the CRM. Pick one and it takes effect at your next sign-in.
You are only offered screens your role can actually open, so the two groups look different from one desk to the next. An account executive sees the Sales group on its own and starts on Sales Home unless they choose Leads or Deals instead; an engineer or project manager sees the Delivery group and starts on My Day. If your role changes, a screen that is no longer yours quietly gives way to the starting point for your new one.
