Tables: sort, resize and choose your columns
The CRM lists and the other tables with a Columns button work the same way. Click a header to sort, drag the edge of a header to make a column wider or narrower, and open Columns to hide, show and reorder columns. What you set is kept for you on any browser and computer you sign in from, and changing it never changes anyone else's table. The last section names the tables this covers.
Sort by a column
Click a header to sort the table by it, and click it again to reverse the order. The first click puts dates newest first, numbers and money highest first, and text A to Z. The sorted column's header turns dark and shows a purple arrow; every other header you can sort by shows a faint chevron. A header with no mark beside it can't be sorted. From the keyboard, press Tab until a header has focus, then press Enter or Space.
Make a column wider or narrower
Drag the edge at the right of a header. The edge shows as a purple line while your pointer is on it. The column just after the edge gives up or takes the room, and the column that names each row (the company, the contact, the deal) takes whatever room is left, so the table fills the page on a wide screen and a narrow one alike. When the columns you want need more room than the page has, the table scrolls sideways inside its own box and the page stays where it is.
- +From the keyboard, press Tab past a header to reach the edge after it, then press the left or right arrow to change the width 16 pixels at a time.
- +Press Enter on an edge, or double-click it, to put that column back to its standard width.
- +A touch screen shows no edges to drag. Widths you set on a computer still apply there.
Choose and reorder columns
Open Columns. It sits at the right of the table's toolbar, or at the right of the filter bar on Companies, Contacts, Deals, Leads and a list's members. The list runs in the same order as the table, top to bottom for left to right, and a hidden column sits unticked where it would appear. Every change shows in the table as you make it, so you choose against the real table.
- +Untick a column to hide it and tick it to bring it back. It comes back at the width you gave it.
- +Drag a column by the grip at the left of its row, or put focus anywhere in its row and press Alt (Option on a Mac) with the up or down arrow.
- +The column that names the row carries a lock: it is always shown and always first.
- +On a table with more than 12 columns, a "Find a column…" box at the top narrows the list.
- +On the five CRM lists, "Keep columns in view" (0 to 3) holds that many columns in place while the rest scroll sideways.
"Reset columns" at the bottom puts the columns, their order and their widths back to how the table starts, along with how many stay in view on the CRM lists. Your sort stays as it is. While your layout differs from the standard one, the Columns button is tinted purple.
Remembered for you
Current keeps your columns, their order, their widths and your sort for each table under your own name, and they follow you to any browser and computer you sign in from. A list opened from a dashboard tile keeps a layout for each metric, since each metric has its own columns.
The line under the table
A line under the table says how many rows are on screen, how many match your filters and what order they are in, for example "25 of 25 shown · sorted by Last activity, newest first".
- +When Current has no exact count of the rows that match (while you search a CRM list, for example), the second number is a dash rather than a figure that would count rows your filters leave out.
- +When the order on screen covers only the rows loaded so far, as on a dashboard list that stops at its row limit, the line leaves the sort out.
Where it applies
These tables have a Columns button and remember your choices: Companies, Contacts, Deals, Leads, a list's members and Roadmaps under Sales, the Teams list on Users & roles, and the list a dashboard tile opens when you click its number. The small table inside a dashboard tile and the sample on an audience sort from their headers and keep nothing else, since every row is already on screen. Other tables, the member list on Users & roles among them, don't remember a layout for you.
