People in Current who aren't in your PSA
3 min read · Updated Oct 22, 2026
Yes. Anyone you invite to Current signs in and works whether or not they have an account in your PSA. What changes is the work that has to reach your PSA: logging time on PSA-synced projects and tickets, and the PSA work that fills My Day, need the person's Current login linked to their resource in your PSA. Everything else follows their role.
How a person gets linked to your PSA
On every people sync, Current links a PSA resource to a Current user when the email address in your PSA matches the address that person signs in to Current with (capital letters don't matter). When the addresses differ, a tenant admin links the person by hand.
- 1Open Settings › Users and roles › PeopleThe column named for your PSA shows each person's linked resource, or Not linked.
- 2Click the person's rowTheir panel has a section named for your PSA, for example Autotask resource, ConnectWise member or HaloPSA agent.
- 3Pick their resourceThe link saves when you pick it. Their tasks, opportunities and the companies they manage in your PSA fill in on the next sync.
Note
Only a tenant admin changes a link
Only a tenant admin or the sync itself can change who is linked to a PSA resource. Nobody can link themselves, because a link decides whose PSA work and time a person sees.
What works without a link
| Works without a PSA link | Needs a PSA link |
|---|---|
| Signing in and everything their role allows, such as reading projects, comments and reports | Logging time on a PSA-synced task or ticket. Without a link it is blocked with a message that the account isn't linked to a resource in your PSA |
| Tasks and time on Current-only projects, which stay in Current and never reach your PSA | Their PSA work on My Day, which stays empty without a link |
| The CRM, when a tenant admin gives them CRM access | Their approved time off in your PSA reaching the scheduler |
| Comments, mentions and notifications | Being shown as the account manager of the companies your PSA says they own |
What it costs
- +Every staff login in Current is a paid seat, whether or not it is linked to your PSA.
- +Read-only partner viewers are free and never take a seat.
- +People who exist only in your PSA and never sign in to Current don't need a login and don't take a seat.
Tip
Someone is in your PSA but can't be linked
A person missing from that list may be inactive in your PSA (Autotask, for one, sends only active resources). Make the resource active, have a tenant admin press Sync now on your PSA in Settings › Integrations, then link them. See "Resync your PSA and refresh users from it".
