Resync your PSA and refresh users from it

4 min read · Updated Oct 10, 2026

Yes, you can resync at any time. A Tenant admin opens Workspace → Integrations and presses Sync now on your PSA's card. That re-runs the whole pull from your PSA, and the people in your PSA (your users, technicians or resources) come in as part of it. You don't have to wait for it: the background sync also runs every five minutes, and it refreshes people about every 6 hours.

Resync everything with Sync now

  1. 1
    Open Workspace → Integrations
Find it in All pages (press /) if Workspace isn't in your left menu. Only a Tenant admin sees the buttons; everyone else sees the connection's status and a line saying integrations are configured by a Tenant Admin.
  2. 2
Press Sync now on your PSA's card
The same button sits on the Sync health page (Sync details on the card opens it).
  3. 3
    Watch the button
Current pulls one area at a time and the button counts through them, for example "Syncing contacts, 4 of 14…". Projects and tickets come first, then people and settings, then companies, contacts, contracts, opportunities, quotes, notes and the other company records, then tasks, time entries, holidays and time off. How many areas there are depends on your PSA.
  4. 4
    Press it again if asked
On a large workspace a run can stop partway with "Large workspace. Click Sync now again to finish." Pressing again carries on from where it stopped. Running it twice never duplicates a record.

Refresh users and people from your PSA

People in your PSA (Autotask resources, ConnectWise members, HaloPSA agents, Syncro users) are pulled in the "people and settings" step. Without anyone pressing anything they refresh about every 6 hours, so a technician added to your PSA appears in Current within about 6 hours, or straight away after Sync now.

  • +After every people pull, Current links each PSA person to the Current user with the same email address (capital letters and spaces don't matter). A link that already exists is never changed.
  • +Someone whose PSA email differs from their Current sign-in email stays Not linked until a Tenant admin links them by hand (below).
  • +Someone who has no Current login yet gets one from Users & roles → Invite. Once they accept, the next people pull matches them by email.
  1. 1
Open Workspace → Users & roles
The column named for your PSA's word for a person (for example Autotask resource) shows who is linked and who reads Not linked.
  2. 2
    Click the person's row
Their panel opens. The section named for your PSA (for example Autotask resource) holds a picker.
  3. 3
    Search and pick
Type in Search resources… and pick the right person. A message confirms it, for example "Linked to Dana Ortiz." Choose Not linked at the top of the list to remove a link.
Note
Who can change a link
Only a Tenant admin, or the sync itself, can link or unlink a PSA person. A link decides whose PSA tickets and time a person sees as their own, so project and service managers are refused. A link made by hand stays until a Tenant admin changes it; the sync does not put a removed hand link back.
Tip
The readiness check does this for you
Settings › Readiness › Workspace basics lists every staff member who isn't linked, suggests a match by email and then by name, and links them with one press of Link.

How long a sync takes

There is no fixed time: it depends on how much your PSA holds. A routine background sync picks up changes every five minutes. A first sync, or a Sync now on a large workspace, moves through the areas above one at a time and can need more than one run; whatever a run leaves, the background sync finishes, and the Sync health page's Last full sync then reads Finished by background syncing. While it runs you can keep working in Current, and closing the tab doesn't stop it. Autotask allows about 10,000 requests an hour across every tool that uses it, so Current paces itself when that budget runs low. Settings › Readiness › Workspace basics says how many days back your PSA history in Current reaches so far.

For what each status on the Sync health page means, see "Reading the sync health dashboard (and fixing a stale sync)".
