HaloPSA quotes and quote-agnostic conversion

6 min read · Updated Jul 18, 2026

The handoff from sales to delivery is where MSPs leak money — a quote is won, and then somebody has to notice, build the project, remember the hardware, and move the opportunity. If you quote in HaloPSA, Current runs the same Win Quote Engine it runs for ScalePad Quoter and ConnectWise CPQ: won quotes appear in front of a project manager automatically, and a few guided steps later there is a real project, real charges in Halo, and an opportunity that has moved itself.

Note
Quoting is now quote-agnostic
Alongside Halo quotes, the whole win-quote flow went PSA-agnostic. ScalePad Quoter now converts into whichever PSA your workspace runs — so if you quote in ScalePad but run ConnectWise or Halo, the won quote still builds its project and pushes its charges into your PSA, not just Autotask. You pick the quoting tool; Current routes the conversion to the PSA you're connected to.
Note
The money rule
HaloPSA stays the source of truth for every dollar. Every figure Current shows or writes — amounts, line items, charges — is read from Halo with Current's own credentials, and the charges Current pushes land in Halo, where your billing runs.

Requirements

  • HaloPSA connected as your workspace's PSA. Halo quotes are native to the PSA — Current reads your quotes and writes projects and charges back into the same Halo instance.
  • A "won" quote status. In Halo, a quote is won when it reaches a quote status whose "System Use" is "Accepted" (Configuration → Quotations → Quote Statuses) — that's the status that puts a won quote into Halo's "Requires Processing" set, which is what Current watches.
  • Tenant Admin to connect and configure; project managers and admins to convert.

How wins are detected: polling, on purpose

There's no webhook here — deliberately. Halo's outbound callbacks carry no signature Current could verify, and Halo doesn't offer a single "changed since" filter on quotes, so Current polls Halo every few minutes for quotes that have reached your accepted status, using its own authenticated credentials, and works out what's new by comparison. A win appears in the queue within a poll cycle or two, and a missed cycle is caught by the next — there's no delivery to drop.

Note
Reading "won" — still being confirmed against live Halo
Because Halo lets you name quote statuses anything, Current keys off Halo's own "system use = Accepted" and processing-state flags rather than matching a label. The exact API read for that system-use value is one of the Halo behaviours still being confirmed on live instances — the reliable setup is a single, clearly-named accepted status.

The queue and the wizard

From here the experience is identical to a Quoter win, on purpose: the quote lands in the "Won quotes — ready to convert" queue on My Day, and Convert opens the same wizard — destination (project or post-sale ticket), the day-1 questions, AI plan drafting against the sold hours and your deadline, the charges step, and one Review confirm that is the first and only write. The full walkthrough lives in "ScalePad Quoter: turn won quotes into projects and charges" — every step described there behaves the same for a Halo quote, with the writes going to HaloPSA instead of Autotask.

Charges and recurring lines

One-time lines you tick are pushed as charges against the new project (or ticket) in Halo, referencing your Halo product catalog. Recurring lines are never pushed as one-time charges — they become the critical day-1 "Set up recurring billing & contract" task with one checklist item per recurring line, so MRR can't fall through the cracks. Halo splits a quote's money into one-off, monthly, and annual figures, and the wizard uses that split to size the plan and label the charges correctly.

After you convert

  • Current moves the Halo quote and its opportunity to your won/converted state, which clears it from the queue. If that write-back fails, the result screen says so and you move it in Halo yourself.
  • Partner-portal access and the started/finished notifications behave exactly as on the Quoter path.
  • If a quote is stuck in the queue, the answer is the quote's status in Halo — nobody can dismiss a row by hand inside Current, on purpose.
Heads up
Live billing data
Halo quotes live in your production Halo, so a real conversion pushes real charges. Make your first live conversion a low-stakes internal quote — and remember conversion is a project-management action: engineers and partners never see the queue.
