Manage your subscription: seats, plans, cards, and invoices

6 min read · Updated Jul 17, 2026

Everything about paying for Current lives on one page. Click your initials in the top-right corner and choose Billing — it's there for workspace admins only, so nobody else on your team ever sees plans, invoices, or card details. The page shows your plan, the seat meter, your payment method, billing details, and every invoice, and everything on it can be changed without opening a ticket.

Note
Billed through ITPartners+ instead?
Some workspaces are invoiced directly by ITPartners+ rather than self-served by card. If yours is one of them, the Billing page is a simpler note saying so — there's no card to manage and nothing to configure. Questions about your subscription go to your ITPartners+ contact.

Reading the plan card and the seat meter

The plan card shows which plan you're on and your own per-user rate — for Round 1 founding workspaces that's the founding rate ($50/user/mo Monthly, or $45/user/mo Annual billed yearly), locked for as long as your subscription stays active — plus your renewal date and the exact amount of your next renewal. Below it sits the seat meter: "Using 6 of 8 seats." The first number is your active team members; the second is your allocation — the pool you've bought. Partner portal viewers never appear in either number, and disabling a user lowers the first number immediately.

If you've scheduled a change, the page says so out loud: a "5 at renewal" badge next to the meter for a pending seat decrease, or a banner for a pending plan switch. An "Undo scheduled change" button sits right beside it, so nothing sneaks up on you at renewal.

Adding seats

  1. 1
    Open Adjust seats
On the plan card, click Adjust seats and step the number up to where you need it.
  2. 2
    Read the preview
Before anything is charged, the dialog shows the exact prorated amount: "$135.00 charged now — covering the new seats through your renewal date, so everything still renews together." The amount covers only the time left in your current term; from renewal on, the new seats just bill with the rest.
  3. 3
    Confirm
The button says exactly what it does — "Charge $135.00 & add seats." The charge lands immediately on both plans, you get a clean invoice for it, and the seats are usable the same second. If the card declines, nothing changes at all — no seats, no invoice.
Tip
Seat changes are free during your trial
While you're trialing there's no proration and no charge — adjust seats as much as you like, and the first charge on day 15 simply bills whatever you settled on.

Lowering your allocation

Step the number down in the same Adjust seats dialog. A decrease never happens mid-term — you keep the use of every seat you paid for through your renewal date, then the next bill covers the smaller number. The dialog is honest about this: "No refunds mid-term — you keep all 8 seats until renewal, then renew at 5 seats." Two floors apply: you can't go below 3 seats (the minimum, always), and you can't go below your active user count — disable or remove people first if you need to.

Switching plans

DirectionWhen it happensWhat you pay
Monthly → annualImmediately — today becomes your new renewal dateA prorated charge today: your unused monthly time is credited, and your annual term starts now at your locked per-user rate
Annual → monthlyAt renewal — you keep the annual term you paid forNothing today; monthly billing at your locked per-user rate starts when the annual year ends
Note
On custom pricing?
If your workspace has a negotiated per-seat rate, the plan-switch button is disabled with a "contact us" note — switching would drop your custom price, so that change goes through us instead.

Updating your card

The Payment method panel shows the card on file (brand, last four digits, expiry). Click Update card, enter the new one, and it becomes the default for renewals and seat additions. Card details are entered directly with Stripe — they never touch Current's servers. And if a payment is overdue when you save a new card, Current retries the open payment right away, so a fixed card means restored access without another click.

Billing details on your invoices

The Billing details panel controls what prints on your invoices: the billing email (point it at accounting@ so invoices and receipts skip your inbox entirely), your company name and address, and an optional invoice memo or PO number. Set these once and every invoice from then on carries them — no more forwarding PDFs to bookkeeping with a note attached.

Invoices

Every invoice is listed on the page with its date, amount, and status — paid, open, or one-time for the occasional custom-work charge. Each row has a PDF download and a link to view the invoice on Stripe's page. Your first invoice arrives when the trial converts; there's nothing before that.

For what happens when a charge doesn't go through, see "When a payment fails: the exact timeline". Thinking about leaving? "Cancelling your subscription (and what happens after)" walks through it honestly.
