Campaigns & sequences: which one to use, and where
One page holds your service notices, campaigns and sequences. What each one is for, how + New builds any of them with AI or in your own words, where older campaigns went, and how the page works on a phone.

Since October 28, 2026, everything you send to many people at once lives on one page: Campaigns & sequences, in the left menu. It replaced the Campaigns group under Sales (Campaigns, Sequences, Outreach and Lists). The page has three tabs, Service notices, Campaigns and Sequences, and one + New that builds any of the three. Lists and LinkedIn outreach are links at the top of the page. Old bookmarks, pins and links to the Campaigns and Sequences pages still work and open the right tab.
The three kinds, and when to use each
| What it is | Use it for | Before it goes | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Service notice | One email about maintenance, an outage or a change. It goes out right away and still reaches people who opted out of marketing. | News people need to know. Never an offer. | A test send to yourself (required). No approval. 10 seconds to undo after Send. |
| Campaign | One email or a short series to a list, on dates you pick, from your sending domain with an unsubscribe link. | News, offers and events going to a whole list. | A test send, then a sales manager or tenant admin approves it. |
| Sequence | Emails that go from your own mailbox one person at a time. A reply stops it for that person. | Personal follow-up with prospects and contacts. | A test send, then approval for one built in + New; see below for the Sequences tab. |
Find your way around the page
- The ? beside the title opens a short comparison of the three kinds. Each tab has its own ? too.
- Each tab shows its count, and a This week strip at the top: what is sending now, what went out in the last 7 days, and replies or opens where Current measures them. A figure Current does not have shows as a dash, never as a zero.
- Service notices: one row per notice, with any updates you sent nested under it, its status and how many people it reached. A sent notice has Send update in its ⋯ menu. See "Service notices: tell your customers what is happening".
- Campaigns: designed campaigns and older one-off campaigns in one list, as a Gallery, a List or a Calendar. Approvals and Templates are filter chips above the list rather than tabs.
- Sequences: your sequence library, with folders, templates and, for sales managers, a Mine and Team switch. A sequence that belongs to a designed campaign says Part of campaign and its name, and opens read-only: change it from the campaign.
- The first time you open each tab, a short guide points out what is on it. You can open it again from the New here? card.
Who sees what: everyone with CRM access sees all three tabs. Tenant admins, service managers and dispatchers can send service notices without CRM access, and they see the Service notices tab only. Partner Viewers never see the page.
+ New: one builder for all three
- 1How should it go out?Pick Service notice, Campaign or Sequence. Each choice says what it does and when to use it. You can change your mind until you send. If you can send service notices but not campaigns, this step is skipped.
- 2Tell Current what you want to runChoose AI writes it or I'll write it. With AI writes it, pick an idea Current found in your data or describe what you want in a sentence, and Current builds the rest from your Brand Kit and your data. With I'll write it, give it a name and you get one blank email to write yourself: no AI is used, and the A few questions step is skipped.
- 3Who gets itChoose all your customers, a customer group or the companies you pick, then which contacts at each company: Primary, Billing or Technical. Leave out companies or people, and watch the live count. See "Campaigns and audiences" for every option.
- 4Write it, test it, send itA service notice goes to Write it, then Test and send. A campaign or sequence goes through A few questions (AI only), Pick a look, The series, When it goes and Review. Every kind needs a test send to yourself first, and the test must match the email as it is when you send or approve it.
A campaign or a sequence built here goes to sales leadership for approval: the person who built it submits it, and a sales manager or tenant admin approves it. The people it reaches are fixed at that moment. Pick a look offers four layouts with the same words in your brand: Spotlight, Letter, Briefing and Announcement. A campaign needs your sending domain connected; if it is not, a Connect your sending domain step appears for it. A sequence sends from your own Microsoft 365 mailbox, so it never needs one.
Older campaigns and sequences keep working
Campaigns made before October 28, 2026 keep their history and open in the composer they were written in, and so do a Duplicate of one and a campaign started from a saved template. That composer now makes marketing campaigns only: a new service notice is made with + New. An older service-notice draft can still be sent: the person who wrote it can send it to 25 people or fewer, and a sales leader approves anything larger. Sequences built before keep running exactly as they were.
On a phone
- The large title shrinks as you scroll, and the tabs stay pinned under it.
- Each notice, campaign and sequence is a card with one full-width button and a ⋯ menu for the rest. A preview you would hover over on a computer opens as a sheet when you tap it, and Move to folder replaces dragging.
- + New opens as a sheet that rises from the bottom of the screen. The button for the next step is large and stays above the keyboard, and swiping in from the left edge goes back a step.
- Every button and switch is big enough to tap, and text boxes do not zoom the page when you tap into them.
